Exhibit 4 of the Holocaust Garden of Hope, titled The Atrocities, delves into the grim realities of the Nazi regime’s racial hatred and genocide. Visitors are confronted with the horrors inflicted on Jewish communities and others deemed “unfit” by Nazi ideology. From forced sterilizations and the euthanasia program targeting disabled Germans to the systematic destruction of Jewish communities in ghettos, the exhibit illustrates the devastating impact of a regime consumed by racial purity. Stories like those of Dr. Janusz Korczak, who chose to die with the orphaned children he cared for, highlight both the inhumanity of the oppressors and the enduring bravery of those who resisted evil.
