Life before the Holocaust – Business & Everyday Pleasures
Before the Holocaust, parents worked, and children played. Families and friends celebrated holidays together. However, something terrible was about to happen.
This exhibit will depict what ordinary life was like for Jewish children in Europe before the Nazi regime implemented its Final Solution extermination plan. With articles, stories, and/or artwork we will tell the stories of children who played sports, went to school with non-Jewish peers, and helped their parents run businesses as peaceful members of European society. The exhibit makes the point that destruction can come upon us suddenly if we fail to notice the warning signs or presume they do not apply to us.
This exhibit will feature multiple artists’ input on a four panel display. Exhibit may include a collage of photos and newspaper clippings, plus plantings, a bench, and key educational information with QR code link to additional material on website.
Exhibit 2 – $250,000
