December 17, 2025 – HRA18

On December 14, we gathered for a joint Jewish–Christian celebration of Hanukkah on the Green at Kings Harbor, followed by a Twilight Tour of the Holocaust Garden of Hope. It was a deeply moving evening—marked by light, prayer, fellowship, and resolve. Even as news broke earlier that day of the horrific antisemitic attack on a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney, our community chose not fear, but unity. We gathered because remembrance is not optional, and because light must be visible precisely when darkness presses in.

Hanukkah is more than a festival of lights. It is the biblical story of rededication, religious freedom, and the courage to worship God without coercion. Scripture reminds us that Jesus Himself celebrated Hanukkah—the Feast of Dedication (John 10:22)—standing with His people in Jerusalem during a moment of renewed hope. That truth anchors our work. It also underscores a sobering reality: had Jesus lived during the Holocaust, He—and all of His Jewish apostles—would have been targeted simply for being Jewish. This truth compels us to stand together today with clarity, conviction, and unity!

The Holocaust Remembrance Association exists to remember, reconcile, and take a stand against antisemitism in all its forms.
