In Loving Memory of Our Friend, Barbara Isom
Barb loved the Holocaust Garden of Hope…
…she was a faithful and encouraging volunteer with HRA18, the March of Remembrance and the Upstander Stone Project. Let’s honor her memory with a bench in the Garden to remember her and her dad, Major William G. Dippo, Jr., U.S. Army (Ret), whose WWII unit liberated the infamous Mauthausen Concentration Camp in Austria and saw firsthand the atrocities of war and the Holocaust.
In Hebrew, the word CHAI means life. In Judaism, it is common to give gifts or donations in multiples of $18 as a way of symbolically giving “life” to a person or project. The act of giving $18 is commonly referred to as GIVING CHAI. This terminology extends to multiples of 18. For example, $36 is commonly referred to as “DOUBLE CHAI”.
Our goal is to raise $18,000 for a Personalized Bench in their honor.
