A Prayer for Moral Clarity in Leadership
As we honor the beginning of this new papal leadership, we offer a prayer from the depths of history and hope.
We remember those within the Catholic Church who stood with the Jewish people during the Holocaust, often at great personal risk. Their actions remind us of what moral courage looks like.
We also acknowledge that past papal statements have, at times, failed to recognize Israel’s right and responsibility to defend her people against hatred and terror. We pray that this new season of leadership will bring greater clarity — a voice that understands the complexity of the region, stands against antisemitism in all its forms, and affirms the dignity and security of all.
May this Pope be guided by wisdom, courage, and truth — speaking with compassion, but never at the cost of justice.
