Holocaust Remembrance Association (HRA18) Statement on the Passing of Senator Lindsey Graham:

The Holocaust Remembrance Association (HRA18) mourns the passing of United States Senator Lindsey Graham—a devoted public servant, Air Force JAG officer, and steadfast friend of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

Long before his years in Congress, Senator Graham demonstrated remarkable character by becoming the guardian of his younger sister after the tragic loss of both of their parents while he was still a university student. That sense of duty and sacrifice would define a lifetime of service to his family, his country, and the values he held dear.

Senator Graham never wavered in confronting the evil of antisemitism. He declared:

“If you told me 80 years after the end of World War II there would be a power on the planet that openly avows the destruction of the Jewish people, that the world would wonder what to do, the answer is simple: stop them. Stop them now.” ¹

He also reminded America:

“Israel is our friend, surrounded by people who would cut their throats if they could. This is not a hard choice if you’re an American and a Christian. If America pulls the plug on Israel, G-d will pull the plug on us, and we’re not going to let that happen.” ²

At HRA18, we honor Senator Graham’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten and that “Never Again” remains a call to courageous action, not merely a remembrance of the past.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his family and loved ones be comforted among all who mourn.
