We mourn the violent killing of Charlie Kirk. While the full facts and motive are still under investigation, this tragic event underscores the urgency of rejecting political violence in all its forms. We call on leaders and communities to ensure that even amidst deep political disagreement, rhetoric does not degrade into incitement; that grievances are addressed through democratic, peaceful channels, not violence.
The wounds of intolerance and extremism remind us of the lessons of the Holocaust: that societal divisions, hate-filled language, demonization of ‘the other,’ and impunity for violence can escalate toward catastrophe. We stand for human dignity, for protection of life, for the safety of all public figures and citizens alike.
The Holocaust Remembrance Association exists to remember, reconcile, and take a stand against antisemitism in all its forms.
