Why This Matters
“October 7 was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. As we gather in Houston alongside communities worldwide, we are not only remembering lives lost and praying for hostages still in captivity—we are also taking a stand against the resurgence of antisemitism in our time,” said Rozalie Jerome Founder and President, Holocaust Remembrance Association. “The Holocaust Remembrance Association was built for such a time as this: to ensure memory becomes action, and remembrance becomes resilience.”
HRA18, the organization behind the Holocaust Garden of Hope in Kingwood, is recognized as a leading force in Holocaust remembrance, education, and action against antisemitism in the Gulf Coast region. This vigil offers the media an exclusive opportunity to capture a historic commemoration, framed with the weight of history and the urgency of today’s rising threats.
