German railroad tracks embedded in the ground guide visitors through the gate into the Founders’ Court. Pavers and bricks commemorate loved ones and bear the names of founding members of the Holocaust Garden of Hope. Striking statues of three playing children set the tone of this outdoor museum: a Serbian Orthodox Catholic child, a Roma (Gypsy) child, and a Jewish child. These children represent the children victimized during the Holocaust in the former state of Yugoslavia. The purpose of this important transitional space is to draw visitors, particularly children and young adults, into the meaningful learning experience offered by the eight pocket exhibits of the Holocaust Garden of Hope. $300,000
