Why should we remember the Holocaust?

This entrance to the Garden will address reasons and ways we remember the Holocaust, beginning with the largest stone gabion wall in the Garden, filled with stones from the Upstander Stones Project consisting of one stone for each of the 1.5 million child victims of the Holocaust. Individuals and groups in this community and all over the world are lovingly hand-painting the stones with each child’s name, age and place of death, and beautiful artwork on the reverse side. This gabion wall will hold the majority of the Upstander Stones and be the initial meeting place and focal point for students and groups entering the garden.
